Internships are available for the Summer of 2015 Members of the Summer Intern program working in General & Administrative Law, under the direct supervision of staff attorneys, assist in performing legal research, drafting legal memos and pleadings concerning equal employment opportunity disputes and other employment disputes, contracts, investigations, document production including discovery, and other matters of general applicability. Members of the Summer Program also have a limited role in depositions, settlement conferences, and meetings with opposing counsel.
Working alongside our attorneys you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects from litigation to fact-finding and research. Among other responsibilities, our attorneys resolve or litigate cases set for hearing and ensure the outcomes are consistent with legal requirements and the public's interest. Overall, Summer Interns can expect a broad range of assignments ranging from such issues as freedom of expression in the work place to issues of first impression requiring creative and insightful legal analysis.
The anticipated entrance on duty date is Monday, May 18 or Monday, June 1, 2015. Interns will be expected to work a full-time 10-week work schedule. This appointment will not be extended. Perform legal research for authorities and precedent on specific points of law
Draft legal memos and pleadings concerning EEO disputes, employment disputes, and other matters
Conduct document production, including discovery, and perform other duties of general applicability
Evaluate evidentiary record and other documents to support legal findings
Applicants must meet all applicable education requirements by May 2015.
This position is excluded from the bargaining unit. We use a multi-step process to evaluate and refer applicants.

Rating: Category rating will be used to rank and select eligible candidates. If qualified, you will be assigned to one of three categories, A, B or C, depending on your experience and education related to this position. Veterans' preference is applied after applicants are assessed. Preference-eligibles will be listed at the top of their assigned category and considered before non-preference-eligibles in that category. Qualified preference-eligibles with a compensable service-connected disability of 10% or more will be listed at the top of the highest category.

Qualifications:
You must be seeking a law degree from an accredited university.
If selected you must show proof of enrollment for the Summer or Fall 2015 semesters before your appointment begins.

be registered in an accredited law degree program and have completed 2 years of law school

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
