The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Program Analyst responsible for analyzing and advising management officials on the evaluation and effectiveness of nuclear forensics programs and operations.
This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Domestic Nuclear Detection Office (DNDO). DNDO is a joint office established to improve the Nation's capability to detect and report unauthorized attempts to import, possess, store, develop, or transport nuclear or radioactive material, and to further enhance this capability over time.

Major Duties:
Analyzes, manages, and assists in managing projects, programs and activities in the area of nuclear forensics and attribution.
Performs long-range planning and analysis of substantive agency programs where precedents are scarce or nonexistent.
Assists top management to develop long-range management and operational plans for efficient and effective program implementation and administration.
Assesses changing requirements, trends, shortfalls and gaps in the interagency nuclear forensics program.
Makes recommendations that may address conflicting goals and objectives, and impact long-range implementation and administration of agency programs.
To qualify for this position at the GS-13 grade level, applicants must haveat least one year of full-time specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the federal government performing all of the following:1) assisting in the development of analytical methods to evaluate the effectiveness of nuclear forensics programs and processes; 2)contributing to long-range planning efforts aimed at meeting program goals and objectives for national nuclear forensics activities; and 3) assessing the operational effectiveness of accomplishing nuclear forensics in both pre- and post-detonation nuclear scenarios. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
