Job Details
Coordinates all surface and air transport requests for the MedStar Health Group, it's affiliates, referral hospitals/jurisdictions, and other institutions that utilize the MedSTAR Transport service for patient and/or specialty team movement. Provides communications to transport crews, receiving/referring facilities, EMS/Fire/Police jurisdictions, and patient care providers that are directly involved with the transport.
Requires knowledge such as that which would normally be acquired through the completion of a high school education or GED, plus specialized and/or advanced clerical, technical or other vocational training in emergency medicine/communications acquired during 1 - 2 years of additional job-related training including that required for May require the use of specialized medical equipment (i.e., EEG, EKG, blood analyzer), or data processing equipment (i.e., tape drives, consoles).
Registration as EMT-B is required and additional registration as NAACS is preferred.
From three to five years experience in an emergency response position such as EMT-B with a minimum of one of those years in a communications position is required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
