We are moving out of DC in mid-December and are looking for someone to take over the remainder of our lease (January-July) in our Petworth home, with the option to then extend with the owners (including option of 18 month lease possible from the start). We have absolutely loved the house, the block and the neighborhood - can't recommend it enough. It's a gorgeous 4 bedroom/4 baths (2270 sqft) rowhouse on 4th St NW, between Crittenden and Buchanan, on a quiet one-way street with lots of young families and friendly neighbors who often hang out in their front yards to chat. It has a back deck, quiet backyard, and a private parking spot, in addition to easy street parking. It's half a block from the local elementary school. The neighborhood is very family-friendly, with lots of young families, easy access to Sherman Circle Park, etc. Photos here from when the house was last sold, but since then the owners have done a lot to the place (white walls, new light fixtures, landscaping etc):
